A favorite Wilson tradition is back. Gig in the Park returns this spring with a free, outdoor concert series in the heart of downtown—bringing neighbors together for great music, good food, and unforgettable evenings under the lights.
Gig in the Park is a free, family-friendly concert series co-hosted by two local nonprofits:
Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park & Museum and Wilson Downtown Development Corporation.
These concerts are designed to celebrate community, support downtown vitality, and make live music accessible to everyone.
What to expect:
Live music on select spring evenings
Bring a chair or blanket
Food trucks on site
Beer and wine available for purchase
Please no outside beverages or coolers
Because Gig in the Park is hosted by two nonprofits, sponsorships are essential to making the series possible.
Funds raised directly support:
Live bands and artist fees
Production and sound
Sign Language interpretation
Insurance and ABC permits
Event signage and on-site needs
Any funds raised beyond direct event expenses are split between the two nonprofits and reinvested into their missions of Whirligig conservation and downtown community programming. When you sponsor Gig in the Park, you’re not just supporting a concert—you’re investing in Wilson’s culture, accessibility, and sense of place.
We offer a range of sponsorship levels to fit different budgets and marketing goals:
Presenting Sponsor – $12,000
Series Experience Sponsor – $6,000
Concert Sponsor – $3,500 (one available per concert; 2 of the 5 already spoken for)
Community Sponsor – $1,500
