Roy A. Palmer III, a Northwest Georgia native, has been Executive Director of the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park and Museum since 2023. He previously served as Curator of Education at the National Maritime Museum in the Gulf of Mexico and brings broad experience from cultural and science organizations nationwide.
Roy holds a B.S. in Anthropology (Archaeology focus), an M.A. in History (Public History), and certificates in Cultural Resource Management and Museum Studies. His expertise includes educational program development, community-centered exhibits, and public engagement across diverse topics.
